Public transportation¶
- Information:
- Usefull apps:
- TfL Go: Travel planning app from TfL (Transport for Lodnon).
- TfL Oyster and contactless: App to mange the Oyster card for Transport for London tickets, but it does not work if you don't have a British bank account.
Mastercard, Visa and Maestro can all be used to pay contactless for transport at the adult rate.
On buses and trams you only need to check in while on the tube you need to check in and check out. One exception is the tram to Wimbledon. Then you need to check out also at the gates, and when traveling from Wimbledon by tram you need to check in at the gates and then again at the card reader on platform 10.
When changing trains use the pink card reader rather than the yellow one when changing.
Fares are capped automatically to a one day card or to a seven day "Monday till Sunday" card.
There are some benefits to the Visitor Oyster Card.
