    Check the zonecard and roundabout tickets. The latter are for one-day travel on Scotrail and the subway. It seems that the zonecard is only available for UK residents though. And a Roundabout ticket is not for further destinations but basically only for zones 1 and 2.

    Zonecard: Requires a UK phone number to work, so not really an option for foreign tourists.

    • On busses: Tap when entering, and tap when leaving for the best rates

    • On subway and ScotRail: Tap when entering or when leaving

    Can be on any smartcard: Zonecard, McGill’s, Stagecoach, ScotRail or Subway smartcard, or onto a National Entitlement Card/Young Scot card

  • Subway: Supports Contactless Pay As You Go: Use the payment card when entering and exiting the subway.

    Always use the same card and caps will be applied automatically. 7day week card cap is Monday to Sunday, GBP{ 15.50. Day cap is GBP 3.40, one ride is GBP 1.80.}

  • First bus

    • Tickets can be bought in the app

    • Another option is the Tap on, Tap off system: Tap at the driver's ticket machine when entering, wait for the beep, and tap on a Tap off reader or the driver's ticket machine when leaving to get the best rate. Day and week caps are automatically applied.

  • ScotRail trains: Buy tickets in the ScotRail App. Note that a return ticket is much less than twice the single rate.
