The Arlanda Airport

Arlanda Airport is an airport where you may hve to walk long distances, certainly in Terminal 5.

E.g., departing from Terminal 5, I came in from the Arlanda Express at the high-numbered check-in rows, probably around the E-gates, but then had to go all the way to around the D-gates to check in luggage, only to return to security with its entrance again likely close to the E-gates and the being lead through a shopping zone until halfway the E- and F-gates complexes, to have to return to - fortunately - oly the E-gates for my flight.

Arriving at the C-gates in what used to be Terminal 4, I was still lead to to the baggage area in terminal 5 which again was likely between the D- and E-gates with exit at the E-gates or maybe even further.

The airport does have extensive areas for shopping and food.

There are 3 train stations in the airport. The North and South station are for the Arlanda Express exclusively, while the central station is then likely for the regular commuter trains.

The Arlanda Express is expensive but a very good way to go to the Central Station. At speeds of up to 200km/hour, it takes roughly 20 minutes from terminal 5. You can easily buy a ticket in advance while preparing for the trip. It arrives/departs from platform 1 and 2 in the Central Station, on the North-East side of the station, with an easy entrance at the street "Vasaplan", saving you from finding your way through the confusing maze of corridors that is the central station with the connecting metro station, tram stops and bus stops, a huge station that runs underneath several city blocks. E.g., the Scandic Continental hotel sits on top of the metro station.

Metro

For the KTH course trip I made, I got a week ticket as that was essentially the price of only 11 single trips.
