Morning: Walk through Groningen to the Zernike Campus and loop via Dorkwerd

Visit to the roof of the Groningen Forum

After a visit to the hotel, light evening meal at Ons Moeke 
- 
Visit to Dorothy's Drag under the rainbow, but the karaoke evening was underwhelming.

Sunday June 23: Walking in and around Groningen - 
Morning: Walk to the location of the former Yesse Monastery in Essen.

Early afternoon: Walk back to the city following the "Hofjeswandeling"

Back to the hotel 
- 
Dinner at The Dog's Bollopcks 
-

Monday June 24: Pieterpad Winsum-Groningen. The weather was getting on the very warm side. - 
Train to Winsum 
- 
Walk to the Van Starkenborghkanaal along the Pieterpad, with a lunch stop at Garnwerd (restaurant Garnwerd aan Zee). A bit expensive for what it was, but a nice location at the Reitdiep. 
- 
Walk along paths and roads along the west side of Groningen via Dorkwerk, Leegkerk and Vinkhuizen. 
- 
Evening snacks and drinks at Bierlokaal Café de Koffer 
 
-

Tuesday June 25: Pieterpad Rolde - Zuidlaren. Already rather hot. - 
Train to Assen 
- 
Nice walk to Rolde, and from there on along the Pieterpad to Zuidlaren. 
- 
Lunch at "Pannenkoekenboerderij Brinkzicht" in Gasteren. Pretty decen value 
- 
Time for some ice cream and beer in Zuidlaren 
- 
Back to Groningen by bus 
- 
Evening snacks and drinks at Bierlokaal Café de Koffer 
 
- 
- 
Wednesday June 26: Pieterpad Groningen - Zuidlaren. Again rather hot. - 
Start from the hotel quickly catching up with the Pieterpad. 
- 
Lunch and a local loop at Appelbergen (lunch at Paviljoen Appelbergen, again on the expensive side) 
- 
Continuing to Zuidlaren. 
- 
Some time for beer at Brinkhotel Zuidlaren before taking the bus back to Groningen. 
- 
Drinks and some snacks at Proeflokaal Mout 
 
-

Thursday June 27: Too hot to not walk in the shadow - 
Bus to a stop in between Groningen and Paterswolde 
- 
Walk through the Onlanden nature reserve 
- 
Stop at the FKK beach of the Hoornse Plas 
- 
Back by bus to avoid long walks in the heat, to the city center 
- 
Short walk through Groningen with some Kibbelingen to snack 
- 
Drink at Café Der Witz 
- 
Walking a part of the Kunstroute and then back to the hotel 
- 
Dinner in The Dog's Bollocks, a very good steak with nachos as a starter 
- 
Some drinks in Proeflokaal MOUT

Friday June 28: Going back home but first some visits... - 
Visit to the market, bought some belts. 
- 
Buy cheese at Van der Leij. 
- 
Some tostis and beer at Café Der Witz 
- 
Buy some more cheese at the market 
- 
Back to the hotel after some doubt what to do. 
- 
Drive to the viewing tower in the Onlanden 
- 
Drive to the Letterbertpetten and do the walk. 
- 
Start the ride back to Belgium around 6pm 
- 
Stop at McDponald's Lemmer for dinner 
 
- 
- 
Saturday June 29: "Holiday from home": Due to the uncertain weather I did not book another short stay but decided to do trips from home. Saturday turned out differently. - 
Meet with Ronnie 
- 
Walk to town, ice cream at IceMonki and drinks at Malz while it was raining 
- 
Mussels at De Valck, outside as it had dried up a bit 
- 
And with the bus back home. 
 
-

Sunday June 30: - 
Train to Liège 
- 
Walk on the hills behind the Guillemins station 
-

With train and bus back home 
- 
Dinner at Evin Pizza
