Walking in and near Warsaw.

Some sources:

Nice areas to look for

  • Kampinoski Park: Large forest northwest of Warsaw, with lots of trails and variety. Also with a museum remembering those executed in WWII by the Nazis.

  • Lasy Drewnickie: North of the city and a bit more tricky to get there. Can be very muddy, basically a bog.

  • Mokry Lug: Northeast of the city, again with lots of variety. Also some bunkers, remnants from the German occupation. No marked trails and also military training ground so not always accessible. Again with a memorial church, here for a plain crash

  • Zegrze Lake: North of the city.

  • Kabaty Forest: At the end of the metro line in the south so very easy to reach. Not the most interesting area as there is not that much variation, but OK for one day.

  • Town of Sulejowek: East of Warsaw. Could be part of a one-way hike from Praga

  • Chojnowski Forest: South of Warsaw.

Apps

  • Komoot is not that spectacular around Warsaw.

  • Wikiloc has a bit more, but much rubbish also.

  • AllTrails might be a better option.

  • RouteYou doesn't have that much either.
