To do during the trip...

  • Thursday June 18: Travel day

    • Bus at 05:07 as I was ready anyway
    • Got the train already at 5:21
    • The checkin at Brussels South opened later than announced, had to wait a long time as I was much earlier than expected.
    • EuroStar at 7:57, arrived 8 minutes late in London
    • Transfer to Euston, spent some time outside on a bench behind the Cricks and rested in the first class lounge.
    • Train at 11:40, arrived with over half an hour of delay in Glasgow just before 18:00. Got refunded 50% of the ticket price.
    • Checked in at the hotel. As I remembered, breakfast was not included and rather expensive. But it did turn out to be a very good breakfast.
    • Dinner in Tap Yard on Merchant Square.
    • Some beers in Shilling Brewing Company

  • Friday June 19: A very rainy day

    • My own version of the Mural Walk,
    • Some rest in the hotel and recharging the phone
    • Late lunch: Pizza at Delmonica's
    • Some shopping
    • Some beers in The Raven as it was raining too hard
    • Drying up in the hotel
    • Dinner in Turkish restaurant EFES near the hotel
    • A beer in Underground Bar

  • Saturday June 20: Edinburgh pride

    • 9:15 train from Queens Street Station to Edinburgh Waverley
    • Walk on the Royal mile, to the castle, and visiting some kilt shops
    • Walk with Scotland Leathermen
    • Light late lunch at Otto Spud
    • Regent bar with Scotland Leathermen
    • Pizza at Matto pizza
    • Drink at Street bar (gay bar)
    • Drink with Newcastle Leathermen at The Booking Office
    • Back by train at 20:45 and back to the hotel

  • Sunday June 21: Very sunny day, 23 degrees.

    • Failed walk to Milngavie. The first part was very nice, but the path along the river Kelving became worse and was and was completely overgrown from Balmore Road. I decided to search another way but there were several stretches along a very busy and dangerous road without pavement.
    • Back by train to Queens Street Station. Wasn’t a very good idea as the direct trains from Milngavie go to Glasgow Central and Argyle Street Station.
    • Late lunch in Brewdog.
    • Rest at the hotel
    • Dinner in Finnieston at Taphouse Bar and Kitchen which was a bit disappointing. Claimed to be a good place for beer, but it was very ordinary industrial junk.
    • Date with James

  • Monday June 22: Somewhat rainy day

    • Walk along the Clyde to tall ship
    • From there to University and Kelvin Grove and Ashton Lane, lunch at Brel
    • To Arlington Baths
    • Metro to hotel and sex date
    • Two pizzas at Bier Halle. Very cute twink server.

  • Tuesday June 23: Problematic left ankle so change of plans and visit to Edinburgh

    • Walk in old town
    • Walk close to Arthur's seat
    • Late lunch fish and chips Cafe Vivo
    • 21st Century Kilt
    • Carlton Hill
    • Beer at CC Blooms
    • New town short walk
    • Beer and dinner at the booking office
    • Back in Glasgow to Underground

  • Wednesday June 24: Stirling

    • Planned walk had issues with path, so improvised and did climb Dumyat. Also went to Wallace Monument.
    • On the way bak, I had a beer on the campus of the university...
    • ... and some ice cream at Corrieri's.
    • Dinner in Sitrling in the Indian restaurant Rishi's. Pubs were very full as Scotland was playing later that night.
    • A drinkt at Gallery Bar back in Glasgow

  • Thursday June 25: Helensburgh to Balloch

    • Train to Helensburgh central
    • Walk to Balloch
    • Beer at Monkey Island Caf’e and Bar
    • Boat cruise on the Loch
    • Dinner at Raffles. Not as good as I expected from the reviews
    • Train at 19:08 to Queens Street
    • Shower at the hotel
    • Shilling Brewing Company

  • Friday June 26: Sligthly rainy day

    • Visit of Necropolis and Cathedral, walk in Glasgow
    • Light lunch at Bucks Bar close to the hotel
    • A nap and fresh up for the spanking date
    • Spanking date at Abstraktme studio, Hope Street 21
    • A beer with my spanker at a nearby pub
    • Short stop at the hotel
    • Dinner in Mharsanta
    • Shilling was full, had two beers in Underground instead.

  • Saturday June 27: Falkirk

    • 9:15 train to Falkirk
    • Prepared walk to the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. The middle piece was boring as part of the towpath was closed. There is a circular walk around Falkirk that may nicer
    • Sandwich and a drink at the Falkirk Wheel
    • Just in time for the 15:58 train...
    • Some beers at Gallery bar
    • Shower and some rest in hotel
    • Dinner at Boteco do Brasil. The food was decent but not spectacular. And the atmosphere was very bad with someone just behind me making very loud phone calls.
    • Some beers in Shillings Brewing Company

  • Sunday June 28: Last day in Glasgow

    • Walk to Botanical Gardens
    • Lunch in Ashton Lane
    • Back via conference centre., river, Glasgow Green, Barras Market
    • Some beer at Gallery Bar
    • Katie's was fun
    • Too late at Woody's for food so didn't stay long
    • Burger at the tap house
    • Underground

  • Monday June 29: Travel to London

    • Packing my luggage after breakfast
    • Short walk through Glasgow centre
    • Too early at the station, but boarding did start early
    • Train made an extra stop at Motherwell and there they found out there was an issue with a window in the driver's cabin. So we changed direction and made a loop to get back on the right track. Lots of delay as a consequence, arrived in London at 17:31 instead of at 16:14.
    • Checked in at the hotel
    • Walk towards Soho, dinner at Greek restaurant Mnine Mane
    • Admiral Duncan karaoke night
    • Another beer in The Kings Arms

  • Tuesday June 30: London day

    • Breakfast at Altonapoli
    • Exploring Kings Cross, then walk along the canal and from there to Brick Lane
    • Lunch at Mr. Sausage in Ely's Yard on Brick Lane
    • Bought some stuff at Fetish Daddy
    • Mikkeler Brewpub on Exmouth Market
    • Getting ready for the night in the hotel
    • Dinner at The Eagle on Shepherdess Walk
    • CP night MA1: The Bunker
    • Some beer on the way back to the hotel at The Queens Head Clerkenwell

  • Wednesday July 1: Travel back home

    • Simple breakfast from Tesco in the Kings Cross area
    • Along the canal to Camden
    • Metro to Oxford Circus
    • Walk from there to the Wilmington on Rosebery Avenue
    • Last beer in Mikkeler
    • Pick up luggage at the hotel
    • Eurostar back home
