What to do during the day

Things to visit

Museums

  • The Royal Castle: At the border of the Old Town. Closed pn Mondays. Rather expensive for Poland with prices varying depending on what you want to see between 40 PLN and 70 PLN (€ 9-16). Early baroque style.

  • Fryderyk Chopin Museum

  • National Museum Warsaw: Early art and Polish paintings from the 16th century onwards.

  • Science and Culture Palace (Pałac Kultury i Nauki): From the Soviet era. Vieweing terrace on the 30th floor.

    • Museum of Evolution (Muzeum Ewolucji w PKiN)

    • National Museum of Technology (Narodowe Muzeum Techniki w Warszawie)

  • Lazienky park (Łazienki Królewskie): 76 ha green area south of the city centre. I walked along it during the Warsaw trip for LUMI.

With the Royal Łazienki Museum in one of the royal residences.

  • The Praga neighbourhood is said to be an artsy-alternative spce that is also gay-friendly.

    • Also take a look at the nearby Soho Factory

Out-of-town

  • Masurian Lake District: 200km north of Warsaw, so more something for a few days. It may not be that easy to reach without, e.g., renting a car. Nearby city: Olsztyn, which by train is still 3 hours from Warsaw.

Shopping

Gay

  • reFForm fetish store. Not purely gay, but probably the most gay/fetish oriented sex shop in Warsaw.

Closed:

  • Masculo: Still a web site but no physical location anymore. Now a legal address in Lodz.

Misc

  • Clothing-optional river beach in the south of the city, sometimes found as Błota beach. Said to be popular with gays.

Could be a nice target for a walk following the river.
