Vilnius

General information

  • Tourist Office
  • Probably nice for information: inyourpocket.com, there are also apps in the Apple and Google app stores: "In your pocket City Essentials". (Found via booklet in eLoftHotel)

Public transportation

  • Bus in Vilnius, unfortunately again only in Lithuanian
    • Information on tourist office web pages
      • 30 minutes is €0.65, 1 hour is €0.9, day ticket is €5, three-day ticket is €8, 10 days is 15 EURO. You pay €1 on the bus.
      • Just like in Kaunas, this works with a card, the Vilniecio Kortele. It would cost €1.50 once
      • Should be for sale near the station and in for example Narvesen shops.
    • There is also an app for tickets, but in 2019 it was only in Lithuanian.

What to do

Hiking

Visiting the city

Going out

Gay scene

  • SOHO club is probably still the only "regular" gay club, open on weekends.
  • MensFactory with the Glamor Sauna, seems to me to be sauna and club in one.
  • LGBT Friendly:
    • Café de Paris, Didzloji gatvė 1,
    • Cozy, Dominikonų gatvė 10
    • Pavilion

Dining

  • Baziliskas
  • Craft beer and...
  • BIX Baras: Cheap. Also profiles itself as a beer keg, but actually the beer list is very limited and the quality of most beer is rather mediocre. The food is more than OK considering the low price.

Beer bars

  • Of the restaurants mentioned above, there are a number that can also be counted in this category: Baziliskas, Craft ...
  • Nisha Craft Capital
  • Prohibicia

The spicy

Cruising

  • In the Vingio park there is a cruising zone (54.686214, 25.239284), but it is not very comfortable due to the many insects.
  • An area along the Neris upstream from the beach of Valakampiai (54.730418, 25.295281). In good weather on weekends, this is a very active zone. Men sunbathe naked in open places between the reeds, although there are also those who simply sit along the small paths. Leave the paved path past the normal beach and stay as close to the river as possible.
