I'm curious if there's a tone change when every word in the sentence is a first-time word, like 他今天加班。

Mandarin Blueprint

Nope, not really. You might hear some slight variation is the pitch of the first tones from person to person but they are all first tones :)

最近年轻人加班的时间越来越长了 , if 长 also means "long" can it also be meant that the hours of working over time are getting LONGER and LONGER ?

Mandarin Blueprint

That’s right!

最近年轻人加班的时间越来越长了

Is the 'de' hear relating the young people's overtime with 'shijian'?

Lately, the shijian/time that young people are working overtime is becoming longer/greater?

I want to make sure I'm understanding this grammar.
