Usage 1 - " to cut (qiē)": 

Sentence:

用刀子把西瓜切开,分成四份。

English:

Use a knife to cut open the watermelon and divide it into four pieces.

Top-Down Words:

把 bǎ - (preposition used to shift the object to before the verb, which must be accompanied by some other word or expression, often a verb complement)
西瓜 xīguā - watermelon
成 chéng - verb complement indicating the completion, success or transformation
 


Sentence:

切开肉。

English:

Cut the meat.


*Sentence:

用刀子把苹果切开。

English:

Use a knife to cut open the apple.

#2 Sentence: 切开肉。Can we now use the 把 like 把 肉切开 ? just like 把苹果切开 in # 3 sentence?
