I'm confused on: 这样不是又快又安全吗?
Why the negative? Why isn't it: 这样是又快又安全吗？
And/or, why isn't the translation, "This way isn't fast or safe, is it?"

这样不是又快又安全吗
So it's like saying;
This appears to be again* fast and again safe, dui ma?
*read - at once ..and at once..

Mandarin Blueprint

"又 + adj + 又 + adj" is merely a way of saying two adjectives. For example, if you just want to say "This way is fast," then you'd say "这样很快," but if you want to say "this way is fast and safe," you'd say "这样又快又安全." In this particular sentence, the speaker is saying it as a rhetorical question "这样不是又快又安全妈?"
