Speaking of 汉字,is there an “alphabetical order” in Chinese?
It is easy to search electronically, but what happens if you need to look up something in a printed dictionary?Mandarin Blueprint
If you have a paper dictionary (why, though?), then you'd search by Radical. You may recall that we prefer to say "character components" as opposed to "radicals" because "radical" is the term for which component *category* a 汉字 falls into. From there, you can use that radical to look up characters. Here are some Quora answers that get specific: https://www.quora.com/How-do-you-look-up-Chinese-characters-in-a-Chinese-dictionary

I actually have a paper dictionary that I use when I don't want to or can't be on my phone or computer. The way we're learning characters in MB makes it pretty easy to get the hang of looking up characters. Sometimes it's even faster than drawing it out in Pleco, when I'm looking up something that is in print or in an image.
