Usage 1 - "if": 

Sentence:

如果你是我男朋友就好了。

English:

If you were my boyfriend that would be good.

Top-Down Words:

男 nán - male, man
就 jiù - (expressing condition “then”)
 


Sentence:

如果没有他,我会死。 

English:

I'll die if I don't have him.


Sentence:

如果你想去国外,就要学外语。 

English:

If you want to go abroad, then study foreign languages.

Top-Down Words:

就 jiù- (expressing condition “then”)
学 xué - to study, to learn
外语 wàiyǔ - foreign language


*Sentence:

如果你喜欢他,你们就可以去约约会,吃吃饭。

English:

If there is someone you like, you can go on a date & eat some food.

喜欢 xǐhuan - to like, to fancy
就 jiù - the 'then' in 'if...then...'

Curious, what's up with the repetition in "你们就可以去约约会,吃吃饭"? Is it just being cute? Cheers

That's right, it's just a cute/bubbly way of saying it. It can also be kind of mischievious, e.g. if a guy said this it might insinuate he expects/wants to 'get lucky' on the date.
