Usage 1 - "cash": 

Sentence:

身上有一些现金。 

English:

He’s got some cash on him.

Sentence:

English:

I have cash, no card.

English:

他身上有一些现金。

He's got some cash "on him." So here 身上, the physical meaning is on his body, so it's like money sticks on his body, but the figurative meaning is something like he owes some money, so he borrowed some cash and 还没有还钱. Am I right?

No, 身上 doesn't imply any "owing," it just means that he has cash on him as opposed to being cashless.
