I've always had a hard time remembering this word (星期).
Is it ok if I use for Monday 周一 instead of 星期一?
I've actually heard and seen Chinese people referring to Monday using 周一 .
Thanks guys!

Both are fine. Here's a clip from the latest podcast (just released a minute or two ago) talking about these two if you're interested in learning more :D

Can't Sunday also be 星期日?

REPLY

Mandarin Blueprint

Yes, but in my experience, people tend to say "星期天,周日 zhōurì or 礼拜天 lǐbàitiān" to refer to Sunday. 星期日 is indeed OK, the distinction I'm making is more of a convention than a hard and fast rule.
