Tamara and Hamlet (prop 1) are in the kitchen of my childhood home, getting ready for their weekly debate. Tamara, always organized, writes out different TOPICS on sticky notes (prop 2) and sticks them on the table for Hamlet to choose from. Hamlet, who can never decide even on whether to be or not to be, fails to choose a TOPIC, so Tamara gets to decide on one. She always wins.

On a big computer screen in my kitchen the word TOPIC is flashing in bright bold letters. Tammy (Ti) is trying to decide what she is going to write about. On the left side of the keyboard is a large volume of Shakespeare, on the right is a copy of the constitution. The minutes tick by as TOPIC keeps flashing and she starts pulling at her hair desperately. As she keeps procrastinating the flashing word turns red and an alarm sounds at each flash because she’s running out of time.

Location: Childhood Home (Kitchen)
Actor: Kaley Theresa [her middle name (for 'ti') is used alot, namely when shes in trouble]
Props: Shakespeare Skull (from Hamlet) and The Constitution

My daughter is home from her first semester of college and we are hanging out in the kitchen of my childhood home. She now thinks she knows everything and decides she wants to debate me and says I can choose from two TOPICS. On the table she puts a skull from Shakespeare's play Hamlet and next to it a copy of the Constitution. She tells me the TOPIC we can debate is either Shakespeare or U.S. Politics. I pick U.S. politics since I always win.

(Continuation of 提)
Shakespeare, looking annoyed, wasn’t too happy with Tina’s pencil question and asked her to stick to the TOPIC of English literature (as written on the banner behind him).
Tina then explained to Shakespeare that written words have gone out of fashion and people nowadays are communicating in pictographs instead.
She then ripped out a page from her notebook and drew him some emojis to prove her point.

It's still wild that a character this dense with strokes is not only decipherable now, but I consider it *easy* to write, say, and understand. Sometimes I have these moments in the course that really hit home how well this method works.

Tina Turner is in the hall of Meadway (childhood home), she is answering the door and there is Shakespeare, with a knight carrying the Magna Carter. Shakespeare says “pray good lady, my knight has this document, it's TOPIC is very important to the future of the country. So our people understand could you write a song that would make Democracy a Popular TOPIC with the people?” Tina says, “no, that TOPIC is something I steer clear from in my songs.
