很久以前，有一个男人，年轻的时候，他去很多城市做生意。他又聪明又诚实，所以他的生意越来越好，他也变成了一个有钱人。他和三个儿子生活在一起，儿子们从小到大，钱包里的钱都比别人多得多。可是有一天，他不但病了，而且病得很重，医生都说没办法了，说他只有一个月的时间活了。他必须要从三个儿子中选一个出来，成为公司的老板，帮他管理公司。三兄弟都知道，钱再多也比不上爸爸的公司，因为钱很快就用完了，但是只要有公司在，就会有钱。可是，选谁呢？这个时候，这个男人想出来一个办法。他说，他打算给每个孩子一颗种子，谁能把这颗种子照顾好，开了花，那么谁就可以得到这家公司。他给他们一个月的时间，一个月以后，再来看谁可以当这家公司的老板。然后三兄弟带着种子回去了。
