Using Modules
(Original Document)
At a Glance
When you open the application, Trending Tool creates an empty document named Trending Tool by default. This document contains a first module named Trending Tool module.
To easily manage recordings, you can create a modules tree diagram in which the variables to monitor will be placed. For example, you can use modules to group together variables belonging to the same mechanical movement, or variables involved in a failure you have already encountered on your installation.
Trending Tool imposes no limits as regards to the number of variables or modules a configuration can contain. The same variable can be present at different places in a configuration.
Adding Modules to a Configuration
To add a module to your configuration:
Step
Action
1
Select the parent module of the module you want to create on the modules tree.
2
Use the Insert module command from the contextual menu. This command creates a sub-module related to the selected module and opens a context-sensitive text editor in the window.
3
Type the name of the module in the text editor and confirm your choice by pressing the Return key or clicking on another area of the interface.
NOTE: You can also use the context-sensitive menu by right-clicking on the parent module of the module you want to create.
