很久以前，有个小女孩，因为常常穿着一个有红帽子的衣服，大家都把她叫作小红帽。小红帽有个奶奶，今年70岁了，一个人住在比较远的地方。每个星期，妈妈会给奶奶做很多好吃的，然后小红帽给奶奶送过去。这天，妈妈又给奶奶做了几个菜和一些面包，小红帽开开心心准备给奶奶送吃的。她走的时候，妈妈对她说："最近新闻说有一只狼来了我们这儿，你一定要小心一点！注意安全！" 小红帽点点头说："放心吧！妈妈！" 小红帽唱着歌在路上走着，她的歌声被大灰狼听到了，大灰狼跟在她的后面。等到了一个路上没人的地方，大灰狼正准备吃了小红帽，突然，有一个猎人跑了出来，大灰狼吓跑了。小红帽没注意到发生了什么事，她高高兴兴地来到奶奶的房子前，大叫："奶奶，我来了！快开门" 奶奶和以前不一样，没来开门，而是在床上说："小红帽，奶奶生病了，起不来，你自己进来吧！门没关呢！"

小红帽觉得奶奶的声音有点奇怪，但是她没放心上。她进了房子，看到奶奶在被子里。她走过去问奶奶怎么了。奶奶说："没事没事！" 小红帽说："奶奶，你把手给我。" 奶奶把手从被子里拿出来，小红帽注意到这只手是灰色的，很可怕。这时，大灰狼从床上坐起来，原来，大灰狼把奶奶吃了，等着小红帽，想把她也吃了。可是大灰狼才吃了奶奶，它还不饿，所以它先想睡一会儿，醒了再吃小红帽。它把小红帽关了在了一个大盒子里，自己又回到床上睡觉了。过了一会儿，大灰狼睡着了，小红帽听到了一个人的声音："房子里有人吗？" 原来，门没有关，那个猎人路过的时候，担心出事了，就进来问问。小红帽小声地说："救救我，大灰狼要吃了我！" 猎人把小红帽从盒子里救了出来。小红帽对猎人说："请你也救救我的奶奶吧！她被大灰狼吃到肚子里了。再晚点就来不及了。" 猎人没有一刀杀了狼，而是把狼的肚子切开，把奶奶从里面救了出来，然后又放了很多石头进去。等大灰狼醒来了，他想喝水，口干得难受。可是他发现家里没有水了。所以他只有抱着大肚子去河边喝，可是，因为肚子又大又重，他不小心掉进了河里，淹死了。奶奶和小红帽为了谢谢猎人，请他回家吃饭，他们三个人一起快快乐乐地过了一天。
