Just wanna give a head's up to those who are :
1) aiming for HSK 5/6, and
2) prefers scenes with as little props as possible.
昔 is a common component in a few HSK characters and in my opinion, worth having a prop on its own.
错, 借, 惜, 措, 籍, 猎,醋,蜡,昔日 (and similiar-looking 散, 撒).
Just add new prop card to your ANKI review list and you're good to go.
I personally picked a prison wall.

Jackie is at the e sets back yard. Chuck norris comes over all hot a sweaty drinking a sunnyd. He asked to BORROW a pair of plant sears. Jackie is so overwelmed at his sex appeal she stares at him the whole time while grabbing the shears.

didnt think the MBM would lead me to thinking about the sex appeal of a sweaty chuck norris but here we are. im doing for the love of Chinese!

The definitions given here and elsewhere are "lend" and "borrow", but these two words have opposite directions of the object changing place. The sentences in Grammar Building all show that A借B means A lends to B, and some specify further with 给B. So I can't see 借 being used to mean "borrow".

It's just a matter of perspective. If B is lending, then A is borrowing, like so:
A:"我可以借你的笔吗?Can I borrow your pen?"
B:“没问题,我借给你。“ No problem, I'll lend it to you."

there's a website that has phonetic sets (https://hanzicraft.com/lists/phonetic-sets,). I wonder if these would also be useful as props since they occur in a number characters. It would also help you with pronunciation. I use their home page (https://hanzicraft.com/) to find characters that use a certain character.
