Andy and Wolverine meet in Andy's kitchen (-an location) to PLAY chess. Wolverine is constantly cheating and finally hides his chess king (prop 1) and replaces it with a piece of apple pie (prop 2) to avoid being checkmated. Andy reminds him to PLAY fair, then announces a checkmate and gets to eat the apple pie as well. Well PLAYed!

For 玩 - wán, I've got Woody (wu-) in the kitchen of my -an set, with the following props: King from "Tekken" (王) and Shrek's Outhouse from the "beginning" of the movie Shrek (元).
Song in background: "All Star" by Smash Mouth.
[If anyone remembers the iconic starting scene from "Shrek", they'll know why I chose the song haha.]
King is inside the outhouse in the kitchen, and suddenly slams opens the door (in time with the "Body" lyric, just like Shrek does). Looking a bit bored, he looks around for something to do. King then notices a giant Woody doll sitting on the bench and starts PLAYING with it.
The lyrics: "... get your game on, go PLAY" are heard in the background.Mandarin Blueprint

Star Wars - Episode 2
Actor : Wall-E
Set : My ANatomy lab
Props : Anakin Skywalker, a king's crown
Anakin escaped his tedious jedi training class to PLAY Beat Saber with Wall-E at the lobby of my anatomy lab. He won(because Wall-E was pretty stiff) and crowned himself (literally with a crown) as the Beat Sabre king.Mandarin Blueprint

I think I'm remembering that in the discussion of 儿, 婉儿 wǎn er was "play." And 玩 wán is "play." I'd welcome help!
Mandarin Blueprint
You mean 玩儿?Both 玩儿 and 玩 are the same, it's just 玩儿 could be considered slightly more colloquial more commonly spoken, especially in the north of China.

Thank you! I don't know how 婉 sneaked into my thinking. I appreciate you!

Wolverine is in the HALLWAY of my DORMITARY IN JAPAN where he engages in a mock sword fight with other students. Wolverine wields EXCALIBUR while his student opponent wields a GREEN FLAG with the pole still intact. Many other fellow students watch on as they PLAY, then when the student opponent get's hurt, Wolverine asks among the other students "Who want to PLAY next?" many hands shoot up as they're keen to PLAY too.
