My quick search yielded the following two options as for the meaning of the keyword (from googling the actual character I know no. 1 is correct). It might be worthwhile adding a bit of context:

1: the angular distance of a place north or south of the earth's equator, or of the equator of a celestial object, usually expressed in degrees and minutes.
"at a latitude of 51° N"

2.
scope for freedom of action or thought.
"journalists have considerable latitude in criticizing public figures"

---

On an additional note I think I've reached the conclusion I think the best approach for me would have been to stop adding characters when the sentences haven't caught up. I think being able to connect the characters to words (and sentences if I can understand them) is important for the obscure ones.

(e.g. learning an obscure character you don't really get the keyword for isn't as much of an issue if you get a bit of a feel for it through the context of seeing the words it's used in)
