Lesson 1 of 3

Make a Movie 买

KEYWORD:

To Buy

Pinyin:

mǎi

Actor:

m-  Male

Set:

-ai

Room within Set:

Bedroom or Living Room

Prop(s):

㇇Dr. Spock -OR- Elf (Note that the horizontal part of the stroke is extended and the hook is shortened)

头  Severed Head -OR- Shrunken Head

Notes:

Special Scene Opportunity (Optional)! Consider that 买 mǎi “To Buy” and the next character 卖 mài share the same MM Actor, and the only difference between the set is the bedroom (买) vs. the bathroom (卖). With this in mind, you could make a story that involves getting ready to BUY something in the bedroom that gets SOLD to you in the bathroom.

Matt Damon is sitting in the hairdresser's chair. He has been the victim of the collapse of a broken roof, and has lost most of his hair. There is a wig form sitting in front of him, next to the mirror, and the wig looks exactly like the hair that he lost. He takes out his wallet, willing to pay whatever it costs to BUY the wig.

In the bedroom of a hotel in Iceland (-ai set), Mr. Spock (㇇prop) walks across the room. He steps on Bobblehead Boy from the Fallout games (头 prop). My friend Michael (m actor) angrily says, "You break it, you BUY it!" Spock pulls out a wallet and hands over some cash.

My m- actor and Dr. Spock are in the LR of my ai- set trying TO BUY some furniture from a conehead salesman pretending to like human furniture. Spock can literally see right through the conehead.
