Note: This word is used before descriptions, i.e., "to become (happier, worse off, richer, poorer, etc.)." You'll use 变成 biànchéng (Phase 5 word) to describe "becoming" something, i.e., "to become (a teacher, better person, etc.)."

My prop for 化 is Optimus Prime, so for 变化 I found an image of variations of Optimus (different colours, shapes, stages of transformation) so I can picture him going through a change.

Although 变得 is given here as a dictionary word, isn't it actually like any verb followed by 得 then a compliment of degree e.g.
如果不注意保湿人的皮肤就会变得很干。
