Julius Caesar (C) and I are in the living room my childhood home. He's admiring two gifts just given to him, a stop sign (止) and a ladle (匕).
"Ooohh this is nice. And this is too." I say talking about the stop sign and ladle.
Caesar gets furious and hits me in the face with the stop sign. I fall to the ground and he hits me with the ladle.
"You fool! I will not have a barbarian Briton address me with such casual language."
"S...sss...sorry." I stammer as I stand back up. "Ooohh 此 is nice. And 此 is too."

Christopher Walken is in my childhood bedroom dancing around a stop sign that's in the middle of the room. He has a ladle in his hand and he's singing the ol Fat Boy Slim song he did a video of in the 80's, I hear him singing "you can blow with THIS, or you can blow with that". each time he says THIS he bangs on the stop sign with the ladle. You can blow with THIS (smack), you can blow with that. You can blow with THIS (smack) you can blow with that" ect....

Sorry, we're far ahead in the course, but I think I still feel a bit confused on when to use male or female actors for the ending "i" sound. I have a female for "Ji" and "Ti" but a male for "Ci"? Is that correct?

No worries, it can be confusing!
Yes, you're right. The difference between actor groups is based more on the sound than it is the spelling. Next time you get confused just ask yourself is the sound an "eeeee" sound? If yes, then that's a female as it's the pinyin "I" sound. However, Zi/Ci/Si/Zhi/Chi/Shi/Ri do not have that sound, so they are males.

Thank you very much. I'm not a native English speaker and to be honest I hear these sounds as being very, very similar if not the exact same. But through the chart, I understand the vertical column in pink is for the female actors, right?
Is there perhaps any video or resource somewhere that goes through the chart and that I may have missed somewhere along the way?

Thanks for that. It's helpful. Could I perhaps suggest in an ideal scenario where you guys have lots of time to add some more details on the difference between the actors, maybe spelling out as you did here for me which one are females (and maybe talking about the other types also just for the sake of completion).

Checking on my understanding of words from the video.
此 cǐ is formal for 这 zhè.
从此 cóngcǐ = from this
Dictionary says 从此 "from now on, from then on."
对不对?

Yes, although in this context 此 is more referring to "this point in time", not "here".
