Connection of Discrete Outputs of the Weighing Module
(Original Document)
Introduction
Weighing module discrete outputs are used to trigger actions on threshold crossings. This functionality is used in the "filling unit" application.
Discrete outputs are connected using a screw terminal block:
The common 2 and 3 are linked by the card.
Discrete Output Characteristics
The following table shows the characteristics of the discrete outputs of the module TSX ISP Y101:
Discrete Output
Characteristics
Number of Channels
2
Type
A transistors
Response Time
1 ms discrimination. The threshold crossover point between two measurements is calculated by interpolation to the millisecond.
Nominal Supply Voltage
24 V
Insulation Voltage
1500 Vrms
Maximum Current

Protection
Reverse polarity and short circuit.
Install a fuse on the +24 V pre-actuator supply.
Protection
The ground connection galvanically helps protect the 2 output channels against:
NOTE: In order to help protect against reverse polarities, place a fast-acting fuse on the supply, upstream of the load (shown as Fu in the previous diagram).
