This section explains the connections between a Communication Adapter and an I/O base.
A Communication Adapter can be snapped directly onto a Momentum I/O base, making connections at three points:
Clips lock the adapter in place. The clips can be released with a common screwdriver to remove the adapter.
Each adapter connects to the internal communication connector of its I/O base. The adapter receives its operating voltage from the I/O base through this internal connection.
The adapter monitors its voltage and goes offline to the Modbus Plus network if the voltage is not within tolerance.
