Parametering
The parameter assignments of the function block are effected by the determination of gain, the differentiator and the time constant lag, by which the output Y is delayed.
For very short sampling times and an input X unit step (input X jumps from 0 to 1.0), the output Y jumps to the value gain (in theory - in reality somewhat smaller, due to the sampling time not being infinitely small), and then returns to 0 with the delay time constant lag.
Operating mode
There are three operating mode selectable through the man and halt parameter inputs:
Operating mode
man
halt
Meaning
Automatic
0
0
The function block operates as described in "Parametering".
Manual mode
1
0 or 1
The input YMAN will be transferred directly to the output Y.
Halt
0
1
The output Y will be held at the last calculated value. The output will no longer be changed, but can be overwritten by the user.
