Replacement of AS-J81X-000 Adapters
(Original Document)
Overview
NOTE: You are reminded the ASP890300 is not compatible with J200 or S901 RIO heads that communicate with J810/J812 modules. Use of the ASP890300 requires the use of an S908 or CRP type RI/O head.
The ASP890300 is not physically compatible if installations use the following adapter models:
AS-J810-000
AS-J812-000
In these installations, you will need to:
Primary Backplane Replacement
ASP890300 modules are compatible with:
*Repair/service exchange only.
Power Considerations
If the primary backplane power requirements exceed the ASP890300 capabilities, enough I/O modules must be removed from the primary backplane to bring the current load within specified limits. In this case, an additional backplane and power supply will need to be added in the configuration unless the extra modules can be added to an existing powered backplane. For further reference, see Power Supply Capacities in Remote Drop Secondary Applications and I/O Module Current Requirements.
Secondary backplanes AS-H819-100 and AS-H827-100 support 7 and 11 I/O modules, respectively. Subtract two modules if power supplies need to be added.
Backplane Interconnection Cables
See Backplane Interconnection Diagrams for appropriate configurations.

Coaxial Cable Interconnection/Terminations
These have BNC type connectors which are not compatible with the F style connections on ASP890300 modules. Unless otherwise accommodated, installers may use BNC Jack to Male "F" Connector Adapters, part number 52-0724-000.
