Before installing the TSX IBX 100 module in the PC, it is necessary to take certain precautions and perform certain operations.

Precautions to be taken during installation

It is advisable to limit electrostatic charges, which can cause serious damage to electronic circuits:

Hold the card by the edges: do not touch the connectors or any of the visible circuits.
Do not remove the card's protective anti-static covering before you are ready to install it in the PC.
If possible, connect to the ground when carrying out these operations.
Do not expose the card to contact with metal surfaces.
Avoid unnecessary movements as static electricity is induced by clothing, carpets and furniture.

Preliminary operations

Before installing the card in the PC, the following preliminary operations should be carried out.

Step	Action
1	Configure the card address on the X Bus.
2	Configure the base I/O address used by the module on the RS 232 internal port of the ISA bus.
3	Configure the interrupt used by the module on the ISA bus.
4	Install the module in the PC.
