“Staeck Endler”, “Three Spots”. Kanal de Laguna de Los Platos (Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela). Collected by Dr. Wolfgang Staeck in 2004. Note: These are most likely all hybrids as it has been reported that the original males collected were bred to guppy females. | Río de Oro collections is the cause of some disputes. The type specimen for the species was collected just outside of Aguas de Moisés (Poeser 2005), as was the 2006 specimens by Paul Eckstein. There has been a mention of another collection from 2002. But the exact location has been disputed. Philippe Voisin’s collection specifically comes from the Aguas de Moisés, not the river. | “Endler's Guppy”, “Endler's Livebearer” Originally discovered in 1975 by John Endler in Laguna Patos and connected streams and canals, was actually a micropoecilia species that is believed to be extinct today. |
