Search Function
(Original Document)
At a Glance
The Find dialog box allows you to find variables, events and time stamps in a Trending Tool document. It therefore helps you to find a location in the modules, variables and trend diagram.
Three kinds of objects can be searched for:
  1. Variables
  2. Events
  3. Time stamps
Search for Variables
This function allows you to find variables in the selected module. A variable is found if the key word is contained in its name, its mnemonic or its comment.
Selecting a variable in the output list selects the module and the variable in the list of variables.
Searching for Events
This function allows you to find the status changes of a variable and its statuses by length.
Selecting an event in the results list centers the trend diagram around this event and the variable concerned is selected. Double-clicking on an event adds a time stamp on the date of the event in the module where the variable is located.
Search criteria depends on the variable type.
Boolean Variable
Rising Edge
Search rising edge or value equal to true.
Falling Edge
Search falling edge or value equal to false.
Minimum Activity time and Maximum Activity Time
Allow you to search for the beginning of variable activity statuses (value = TRUE) by restricting the activity length (in h:mn:s).
Minimum Inactivity Time and Maximum Inactivity Time
Allow you to search for the beginning of variable activity statuses (value = TRUE) by restricting the activity length (in h:mn:s).
Integer and Floating Variable
Minimum threshold
Allows you to search for dates during the value of variable that are below the threshold.
Maximum threshold
Allows you to search for dates during the value of variable that are above the threshold.
Searching for Time Stamps
This function displays the time stamps present in the selected module.
Selecting a time stamp in the results list will cause the trend diagram to be centered around the time stamp.
