USB port
|
If the PLC and the PC that is running Control Expert both have USB ports, you can download the application to the PLC directly through the USB ports.

Ethernet port
|
If the PLC and the PC that is running Control Expert both have Ethernet ports, you can download the application to the PLC directly through the Ethernet ports.

communication module
|
You can download the application to the PLC by connecting Control Expert to the IP address of the communication module.

Open the Control Expert project.
|

Double-click PLC bus in the Project Browser.
|

Double-click the ports on the M580 CPU in the PLC bus rack.

Select the Security tab.
|

Click the Unlock Security button to set the communication protocol services to Enabled.

Build the project (Build → Rebuild All Project).

Open the Set Address window (PLC → Set Address).

In the Address pull-down menu, select the IP address of the CPU.

In the Media pull-down menu, select the media type used to connect to the CPU (USB or Ethernet).
NOTE: Select the Test Connection button to execute a connection test. |

Press OK to apply the selections.

Connect the PLC to the project (PLC → Connect).

Open the Transfer Project to PLC window (PLC → Transfer Project to PLC).

Click OK to confirm a stop on the project while the application downloads.
