At manufacture, the equivalent of the line terminator /A is built into the processor and, due to this, the processor forms a termination of the X-Bus. The extendable rack located at the end of the chain therefore must always have a TSX TLY EX line terminator labeled /B fitted on its unused 9-pin SUB D connector.

When no devices are connected to the X Bus, the TSX TLYEX line terminator /B must be installed on the X Bus connector of the Atrium processor.
