Configuring the SYSLOG Server
To configure the SYSLOG server address for logging DTM and module events, follow these steps:

In Control Expert, select Tools → Project Settings.

In the left pane of the Project Settings window, select Project Settings → General → PLC diagnostics.

In the right pane:

Select the PLC event logging check box.

In the SYSLOG server address field enter the IP address of the SYSLOG server.

In the SYSLOG server port number field, enter the port number.
NOTE: The SYSLOG server protocol is not configurable, and is set to tcp by default.

The following DTM events are logged to the SYSLOG server:

Adding a device

Deleting a device

Switching to Advanced Mode

A Rebuild All Project command

A Build Changes command

Renaming of I/O variables

Adding tasks

Modifying tasks
Ethernet Module Events Logged to the SYSLOG Server
Many types of events for Ethernet modules are logged by the SYSLOG server, including these examples:

TCP connection denied due to Access Control list

Enabling/Disabling communication services outside configuration

Ethernet port link up/down events
-
RSTP topology change
-
Configuration download of COM services

Program operating mode change of COMs (Run, Stop, Init)

FTP login successful or denied
